About Commonwealth Ballet

Kathryn Anderson and Chip Morris formed Commonwealth Ballet Company in October 1992. The Acton-based Company has produced over 27 dance programs since its inception. The company has grown over the years to produce critically acclaimed performances throughout Boston and Middlesex West.

The purpose of the Commonwealth Ballet Company (CBC) is to develop, foster, and promote the performance and appreciation of classical and contemporary ballet among the citizens of Massachusetts. Specifically, the Company's main objectives are to:

  1. Maintain strong ties with the communities it serves;
  2. Provide a substantial educational opportunity for young dancers;
  3. Demonstrate the highest level of artistic quality.

CBC strives to be the premier regional dance company west of Boston, recognized for excellence from Portland to Providence and Boston to Worcester.
