ASB Spring Performance - The Pharaoh's Daughter
The highlight of each year's ASB Spring Performance is a full-length ballet performed by the students of the syllabus program (Pre-Ballet through Level 9). Each class has a specific role in the ballet with the soloist roles filled by advanced dancers and graduating seniors.
Rather than a series of unrelated "recital" pieces, the ballet is an integrated story drawn from the classics, including Sleeping Beauty, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Cinderella, or a new story especially choreographed for ASB, such as 2007's ballet, The Enchanted Toy Shop. By participating in a full-length story ballet, children learn the discipline and teamwork that is required to perform to professional standards.
In 2010, ASB performed The Pharaoh's Daughter. ASB's new version of this exciting Egyptian ballet currently is only performed by the Bolshoi Ballet!
